Seeking a New Start in Stevenage as an SEN Teaching Assistant?

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Psychology Graduate, or Nursery Practitioner looking for a fresh start in the education and training sector? Do you have a background in care work or supporting individuals with special educational needs (SEN), medical needs, or physical disabilities? Weekly Salary: £460 - £500

Sector: Education and Training

Start Date: Immediate

Hours: Full-Time, 8:30 AM to 3:45 PM

We are partnering with outstanding SEN schools in Stevenage and the surrounding areas that support children with a range of educational, social, and emotional needs. These schools are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and help students thrive in their learning journey. If you aspire to pursue a career as an Assistant Psychologist, SEN Teacher, or even a Youth/Criminal Justice Officer, this role offers a great stepping stone for your professional growth.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the clinical and teaching teams to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  2. Assist with teaching activities, ensuring students are engaged and supported in their learning.
  3. Provide personal care assistance to students, as needed.
  4. Use your initiative to develop and enhance individual learning opportunities for students.
  5. Support children with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs in achieving their full potential.
What We're Looking For:
  1. Previous experience working with children or young people (desired but not essential).
  2. A caring, enthusiastic, and proactive individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  3. A strong team player who can collaborate effectively with teaching staff, support staff, and other professionals.
  4. A Psychology or Criminology degree or similar qualification is advantageous.
  5. An Enhanced DBS on the update service, or the willingness to obtain one.
  6. The ability to commute to Stevenage or the local area.
