Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a busy inner-city primary school in the LS9 area of Leeds. The role is full-time and long-term, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs to access learning and grow in confidence.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support, help pupils stay engaged, assist with behaviour and work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to build positive relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children, ideally within a primary or SEN setting.
• Patient, resilient and confident when faced with challenging situations.
• Calm and nurturing approach.
• Ability to build strong relationships with children.
• Reliability and commitment to a full-time, long-term position.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support.
• Support pupils with additional learning, communication and emotional needs.
• Help children remain engaged and focused in the classroom.
• Support positive behaviour and encourage independence.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team.
• Build positive and consistent relationships with pupils.
