Job summary

Teaching Personnel in South Manchester is seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with a range of needs in specialist schools. Full-time and part-time roles offer flexible hours and valuable classroom experience.

You will work with pupils with ASC, ADHD, SLCN, MLD/SLD and SEMH, helping with learning, communication, personal care where needed and behaviour support while collaborating with teachers and a specialist consultant.

Qualifications

• Experience helping children or young people in education, care, or youth work is desirable.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Patient, resilient and empathetic approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom-based support to pupils with additional learning needs.
• Offer 1:1 and small-group interventions aligned to individual learning plans.
• Support students with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, nurturing learning environment.
• Adapt learning resources to suit individual pupil needs.
• Support students with personal care where required.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
