Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs in a welcoming classroom environment. You will work closely with teachers to deliver tailored learning support, promote positive behaviour and help pupils access learning with confidence.

The role involves assisting with 1:1 and small-group sessions, fostering independence, and collaborating with staff to meet each pupil’s needs in a safe, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people with SEN or a strong interest in special education.
• Patient, caring, adaptable and enthusiastic.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Commitment to helping every pupil reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional learning needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and deliver tailored learning support.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence.
• Create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to meet individual pupil needs.
