SEN Teaching Assistant – Early Years Support (EYFS)
Location: Worthing
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time; Long-term

Are you passionate about supporting young children with special educational needs at the earliest stages of their development?

GSL Education are currently seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to provide dedicated Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) support in a school located in Worthing, starting September 2025.

Role Overview:

This rewarding role involves supporting children in Nursery and Reception with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, and developmental delays. Your support will help lay a strong foundation for their learning, social development, and overall well-being.

Your Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant – Early Years Support (EYFS):

  • Support pupils in EYFS with special educational needs on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions.
  • Use age-appropriate strategies and resources to promote engagement and progress.
  • Encourage speech, communication, and early learning through play-based activities.
  • Foster a calm, supportive, and inclusive early years environment.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour, reporting regularly to staff and parents.

SEN TA- EYFS Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in EYFS, particularly those with SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent in childcare or teaching support are desirable but not essential.
  • A degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling or a similar field is desirable but not mandatory.
  • A caring, patient, and playful approach to early years learning.
  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework and developmental milestones.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
