Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in Bath schools. This full-time role starts September 2026, 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with long-term prospects of permanency.

You'll provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapt activities to individual needs, encourage positive behaviour and help pupils build communication, social and emotional skills, working closely with teachers, SEND professionals and parents to ensure

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • DBS and safeguarding compliance may be required.

SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Bath, BA1 Start Date: September 2026 Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm Contract: Long-term with the opportunity to become permanent Pay: £90-£105 per day (depending on experience) ** Many of our roles are for schools in rural areas so it is important that you have access to your own vehicle** Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and looking for a rewarding career in education? Axcis Education is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming primary and secondary schools across Bath. This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them build confidence, develop independence and achieve their full potential. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and SEND professionals to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, moderate learning difficulties (MLD), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and other learning differences.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

  • Help pupils develop communication, social and emotional skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and parents to provide consistent support.

Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable but not essential. We also welcome applications from care assistants, support workers, youth workers, sports coaches, psychology graduates and anyone with transferable skills.
