SEN Teaching Assistant | Dawlish, Devon

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel’s partner school in Dawlish is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and help students thrive in a specialist learning environment.

Job Details:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm
  • Hours: 8:45 am – 3:45 pm (Monday to Friday)
  • Pay: £90 - £100 per day (based on experience)

About the Role:

This role involves working with students aged 3-19 who have Autism, learning disabilities, communication difficulties, and complex needs. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students develop academic, social, and life skills.

Duties include:

  • Assisting teachers in delivering structured learning activities.
  • Supporting students with personalised learning plans.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and communication.
  • Helping with behaviour management and emotional regulation.
  • Providing pastoral care and safeguarding support.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Passion for working with SEN students.
  • Experience in education, care, or SEN settings (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication, patience, and resilience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
  • A calm and adaptable approach to challenges.
