Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a skilled Special Education Teaching Assistant to join an award-winning specialist school in Reigate on a long-term contract. You will support pupils with severe learning disabilities and physical needs, working 8:30 to 4:30, with DBS enhanced checks either in place or to be obtained.

Qualifications

• 3-6 months working with SEN pupils or transferable skills from care or support work
• Understanding of various complex disabilities and/or autism
• DBS check (Enhanced Child and Adult Workforce) or willingness to undergo one

Responsibilities

• Assist pupils with diverse physical disabilities and severe learning needs.
• Support pupils in activities and classroom routines under supervision.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to implement Individual Education Plans.
• Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures and DBS requirements.
