Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in Derby. The role focuses on 1:1 and small group support, helping students reach their potential within inclusive classrooms.

You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement IEPs, promote positive behaviour, and adapt learning materials. A patient, resilient approach and DBS update service are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEN (school-based experience preferred)
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to different school settings and pupil needs

Aspire People are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Derby. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them reach their full potential in a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
• Support students with their academic, social, and emotional development
• Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
• Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive, safe learning environment
• Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials as needed

Requirements:
