SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Barking and Dagenham
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (one to one)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Supply (full time)
Daily Rate: 90 - 95 per day (depending on experience)
Year Groups: Nursery to Year 6

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking dedicated and flexible SEN Teaching Assistants to support local primary schools in Barking and Dagenham. We offer both daily and long-term supply roles, providing opportunities to work across a range of year groups.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN), preferably within a school setting.
  • Confidence in supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, with experience in phonics or SATS intervention being an advantage.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with children, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Good behaviour management and communication abilities.
  • Understanding of child development and familiarity with IEP and EHCP targets.

Essential Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • CV must include full work history since leaving formal education.
  • Two professional references from the past two years.
  • Overseas police check (if applicable).
