SEN Teaching Assistant – Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
Salary: £104 – 110 per day
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you an aspiring Speech and Language Therapist looking to gain valuable experience in a school setting? We’re seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Leatherhead. This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with children with special educational needs (SEN), especially those with speech, language, and communication difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to children with SEN

Assist with speech and language programmes under guidance from qualified SLTs

Help develop students’ communication skills through focused interventions

Support classroom teachers in creating an inclusive, engaging environment

Track and report progress to ensure effective support

Foster trust and confidence in a nurturing space

What We’re Looking For:

A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Speech and Language Therapy

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships

Adaptability and teamwork

Experience with children or SEN (desirable but not essential)

Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 TA (advantageous)
