We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisor to join our welcoming team. Your primary role will be to provide one-on-one support to a Reception child with significant SEN needs, including physical and communication challenges.
Working closely with the class teacher and SEND coordinator, your role will be to assist in promoting the learning and personal development of the pupil, to enable them to fully benefit from the educational opportunities available and to integrate into the classroom. The TA post is funded through an Education and Health Care Plan and the hours will increase/reduce/end in line with the plan.
The Midday Supervision role will include supporting children at lunchtimes and supervising outdoor play. The role also includes putting away dining tables and chairs daily.
The ideal candidate will:
• Be patient, enthusiastic and confident in their own ability to work with individuals and groups.
• Have a good standard of written and spoken English, as well as good basic skills in Mathematics.
• Need to be creative, with a positive outlook and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
Working as part of a small team requires someone who is adaptable and able to work collaboratively with members of the school and wider community.
The position is full time and combines 5 mornings (08.45.am-12:00pm) and 5 afternoons (1.00 to 3.15pm) as Teaching Assistant at Grade 3; with 1.00 hour per day (12.00 to 1.00pm) Midday Supervision at Grade 2. This appointment is subject to a 3-month probationary period and the position will be reviewed in line with the EHCP.
