SEN Teaching Assistant (Activity Instructor Background)
Location: Ashford
Salary: £83.33 £89 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

At GSL Education Kent, we re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant in Ashford perfect for those with a background in activity leadership, outdoor education, or youth work who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH, through engaging and structured activities.
  • Using your activity instructor experience to promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and confidence.
  • Assisting with personalised learning plans and sensory regulation strategies.
  • Creating a safe, stimulating environment that encourages participation and emotional growth.
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to deliver holistic support in the classroom.

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Have a background as an Activity Instructor, Youth Worker, or similar role.
  • Be confident working with children with additional and complex needs.
  • Bring energy, creativity, and a calm, supportive approach to every day.
  • Be adaptable, proactive, and able to follow guidance while using your initiative.
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service.
