Job summary

Principal Recruitment is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for a small specialist college in Staines. You will support learners aged 16 to 25 with SEN, helping them develop practical life skills and independence. The role is hands-on, with learning pathways in horticulture, catering and employability.

You’ll work 1:1 and in small groups, in class and outdoors, staying calm, patient and encouraging. Experience supporting young people or adults with SEN or learning disabilities is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people or adults with SEN or learning disabilities.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Happy working outdoors in all weathers.

Responsibilities

• Support learners 1:1 and in small groups, in class and outdoors.
• Help students stay calm, focused and engaged.
• Support life skills like cooking, travel and managing money.
• Be a steady, positive role model for the young men in the group.
