Reed is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with diverse SEN needs in a dynamic East Sussex school. The role focuses on 1:1 support, assisting learning and personal development while fostering an inclusive, ambitious classroom culture.

The position offers paid trial exposure to school operations and emphasizes professional growth within a supportive environment. Training in non-verbal communication is encouraged, with opportunities for CPD and career progression.

Qualifications

• SEN experience advantageous but not required.
• Genuine passion for special education.
• Flexible, proactive and patient approach.
• Excellent team communication skills.
• Resilience, passion and drive to go above and beyond for children of all needs.
• Background in Education, Care or Psychology is beneficial due to transferable skills.
• Training or experience in non-verbal communication methods like Makaton/PECS preferred; willingness to learn is essential.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with children with SEN (e.g., ASD, SLD, PMLD) and support academic/personal growth.
• Engage with children to facilitate progress and learning.
• Participate in a paid trial to showcase capabilities and experience the school.
