Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs across primary schools in Bristol. This role suits a motivated graduate or someone with SEN experience looking to kick-start a career in education, psychology, or child development.

You will gain hands-on classroom experience, develop key behaviour management skills, and build confidence working with students who benefit from tailored learning strategies.

Qualifications

• Hold Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Provide two professional child-related references.
• Experience with children (voluntary, coaching, tutoring, care work) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support or small group interventions for students with SEN.
• Assisting in delivering tailored learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Supporting students with literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
• Helping manage behaviour and engagement in a positive, proactive way.
• Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils to boost confidence and independence.
• Supporting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
