Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Greater Manchester. This temporary position offers the chance to support SEN pupils and work with a dedicated team to monitor progress and wellbeing.

Experience with children/young people and SEN/SEMH knowledge are essential, with a patient, nurturing approach. DBS on Update Service is required; a degree is a plus but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with children/young people in schools, care, youth work or similar.
• SEN/SEMH experience is essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.
• A degree would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support for SEN pupils.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils.
• Help pupils access learning and stay engaged throughout the school day.
• Support classroom routines, transitions and breaktimes.
• Work closely with teachers and the SEND team to monitor progress and wellbeing.
