Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Colchester is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a friendly school environment.

This full-time, term-time only position runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, offering weekly pay and ongoing training. A current DBS on update service is preferred or will be supported during application.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated care for children with SEN and willingness to support diverse needs.
• Ability to work under guidance from teaching staff and follow plans.
• Strong communication and observation skills in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN.
• Support small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Assist with classroom activities and encourage participation.
• Ensure a consistent presence during full-time hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, term-time only.
