Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a resilient Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 or group support for children aged 3-19 with SEN/ALN in Ebbw Vale, South Wales. No TA qualification required, but transferable experience in education, care, or youth work is valued.

You will support pupils with personal care and learning needs, using de-escalation techniques and building strong relationships across key stages. Positive, patient, and adaptable candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children, young people, or individuals with SEN/ALN in education, care, youth work, coaching, or related settings.
• Desirable qualifications or studies in SEN, Childcare, Education, Psychology, Health & Social Care, Youth Work, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide focused 1:1 or small group support for pupils aged 3-19.
• Help pupils feel safe, understood, and capable of progress.
• Demonstrate de-escalation techniques and maintain calm under pressure.
• Support across key stages and adapt approaches to individual needs.
