Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a resilient, empathetic Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant to provide focused 1:1 or group support for children aged 3-19 with a range of disabilities, SEN and ALN in Ebbw Vale, South Wales. You may not need a TA qualification but must demonstrate relevant transferable experience and a commitment to safeguarding.

A calm, patient approach and the ability to de‑escalate when needed will help pupils engage and progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN/ALN in education, care or similar settings.
• SEN/ALN related studies or qualifications desirable.
• Resilient, patient and understanding attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide focused 1:1 or small group support during lessons and activities.
• Help pupils feel safe, understood and capable of progress.
• Deliver strategies to manage and de‑escalate behaviour effectively.
• Support across key stages and build strong relationships with pupils.
• Contribute to an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
