Job description

Academics is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker / Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive school in Crawley. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with students who need additional support in their education and personal development.



Role Overview:

As a Support Worker / TA, you will provide 1:1 or small group support to students with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Your role will involve assisting in the classroom, supporting students' emotional and social well-being, and helping them gain confidence and independence.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support, helping students engage with learning.

  • Assist with classroom activities, adapting materials to meet individual needs.

  • Encourage students to develop communication, social, and life skills.

  • Implement positive behaviour strategies to create a structured and nurturing environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure the best possible support for students.

  • Support students with personal care if required (training provided).



What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (preferred but not essential).

  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (the school is not easily accessible by public transport).

  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
