Job description

Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 or in small groups with students at a secondary school in Stockport. This role is ideal for someone with experience in SEN support who is committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities:
  1. Work closely with students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  2. Assist in adapting lesson materials to meet the individual needs of students.
  3. Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help students stay engaged with their learning.
  4. Support classroom teachers in implementing effective behaviour and learning strategies.
  5. Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience working with SEN students in a school or care setting.
  2. Knowledge of strategies for supporting students with additional needs.
  3. Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  4. A willingness to undertake relevant training and work closely with the SENCO and school staff.
