Job summary

BLACKSTONE RECRUITMENT LIMITED is seeking a Teaching Assistant for a permanent, term-time role. Hourly pay ranges from 13.51 to 14.45, with a salary equivalent of 24,139–25,819 per year and an additional 1,000 Welcome bonus.

The position operates full-time during term time with start times around 8:15am and varying finish times through the week. The role involves supporting pupils in a warm, safe learning environment, assisting the class teacher, and adapting to school needs.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or equivalent.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification desirable.
• Experience in a special school environment desirable.
• Team TEACH Training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe and learn.
• Promote independence and personal development.
• Support the Class Teacher with day-to-day class operations.
• Adapt to changing needs of the school; some physical intervention may be needed (training provided).
• Support pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and well-being.

Teaching Assistant

13.51 - 14.45 per hour ( 24,139 - 25,819 actual salary dependant on qualifications) Plus 1000 Welcome bonus

Permanent Full-Time Term Time Only

Hours: Start time 8.15am - Finish time Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 4.45pm. Tuesday 5pm and Friday 4pm

Key Duties:

• To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the School.
• To promote and encourage independence and personal development
• Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class
• To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school. Some physical intervention may be needed upon occasion, full training on this will be provided.
• To promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.

Skills and Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential)
• Experience of working in a special school environment is highly desirable.
• Team TEACH Training- desirable
