Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Nottingham
Rate: GBP90 to GBP110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Nottingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to positively impact the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Support Individual Learning Plans: Assist in developing and implementing tailored education plans for students with SEN.
  • Provide Targeted Support: Deliver one-on-one and small group support to meet individual learning needs.
  • Monitor Progress: Track student development and adapt strategies to ensure continued progress.
  • Collaborate with Staff and Parents: Maintain strong communication with teachers, staff, and families to support student success.
  • Create a Positive Environment: Promote a respectful and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Engage and Motivate Students: Use creative approaches to inspire and engage learners.
  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of student progress and share updates with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Experience: Previous experience supporting students with SEN is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Commitment: A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.
  • Qualifications: Relevant SEN training or qualifications are desirable but not essential.
