SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Ringwood
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Do you have the dedication to support young learners with special educational needs? GSL Education are seeking a caring and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join schools in Ringwood, offering crucial support to students who require additional help in their learning journey.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to children with a variety of special educational needs. You will assist pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, ensuring that they can fully access the curriculum and develop confidence in their abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group support for pupils with SEN across the curriculum.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to students’ needs.
  • Help create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour.
  • Support students with personal development, social interaction, and independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement strategies.
Requirements
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or a relevant degree (e.g., Education, Psychology).
  • Experience working with children, ideally within an SEN setting.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and remain calm under pressure.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
