Pay Rate : £90 - £110 / Day

We are looking for a nurturing and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to help support pupils across schools in Birmingham and surrounding areas, assisting children with various special educational needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Challenging Behaviours, and Complex needs. This role requires a calm, patient, and proactive individual passionate about helping children thrive academically and emotionally.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning, develop communication and social skills, and foster greater independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 or small group basis throughout the school day.
  • Assist in implementing individualised learning programmes, EHCP targets, and communication strategies (PECS, Makaton, AAC).
  • Promote emotional regulation, sensory integration, and behaviour support in line with individual care plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and progress.
  • Create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs when required, following training and guidance.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with learning disabilities, sensory processing differences, or complex needs.
  • A calm, consistent, and positive approach to behaviour and communication.
  • Strong observational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with visual supports, sensory regulation strategies, or augmentative communication (desirable).
