Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? A specialist secondary school in Bletchley is seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a long-term basis, with the opportunity of a permanent position for the right candidate.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in this inclusive and supportive environment, you will work with students aged 11–16 who have a range of needs including autism and moderate learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will have some experience working with children or young people with special educational needs in a paid or voluntary capacity. We are equally keen to hear from individuals with personal experience, such as caring for a family member with SEN.

This role does not involve personal care and will focus on providing academic, social, and emotional support to help students engage in learning and develop their independence.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

Prior experience working with special educational needs (paid, voluntary, or personal – including autism or MLD)

A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
