Overview

Are you dedicated to helping children grow and develop? Are you passionate and committed? Do you want to gain SEN experience? Do you want to join a school where you can make a big difference? Academics is looking to appoint a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join our successful supply team and work in a friendly, supportive and welcoming Secondary school in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. This is a permanent Teaching Assistant role, working with students aged 11-14 with special educational needs. This position would suit somebody who is wanting to gain SEN experience, someone who is bubbly, confident and ready to hit the ground running in supporting the class teacher. This Secondary school is looking for a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team. Full training will also be provided. This role will commence from October 2025.

The role works as part of a passionate teaching team and focuses on providing a high standard of support to pupils with Autism that need extra support within class.

Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and helping to develop pupils’ learning and development.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support as needed to pupils with Autism.
  • Work on your own initiative to assist the class teacher in promoting student development.

Note: This role involves working with students aged 11-14 with special educational needs in a secondary school setting.

Qualifications & Qualities
  • Experience with young people or adults in any setting.
  • Resilience, confidence and proactivity.
  • The ability to build rapport with hard-to-reach young people.
  • Experience or a desire to gain experience in an ASD setting.
  • Up-to-date DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
