Job description

Position One:Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Position Two:Young Adults & Adults Support Worker.

Location:These roles share the same location at different sites (SG8 postcode area).

Employment Type:Temp-Perm and Straight Perm options.

Position One:£12.90 p/h - £15.33 p/h (depending on experience)

Position Two:£12.37 p/h - £13.49 p/h (depending on experience)

Position One- 8:30am – 16:30pm - Monday – Friday.

Position Two: 8:00am - 21:00pm – 4 day shifts a week.


We are currently seeking several full-timeSpecial Educational Needs Teaching Assistantsand full-timeSupport Workersto join our partnership group

Our partnership group caters for a SEN school and residential home for young people and adults. The school and residential home caters to students aged 5-19 and young adults from 19 years and above.

The cohort of students and residents experience a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Senior Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and Teachers to prepare resources that meet the individual learning objectives of assigned students.
  • Provide 1:1 support, under the supervision of the senior leadership teams, for skills-based learning.
  • Track and report on individuals progress using evidence-based methods, in collaboration with the senior staff members.
  • Facilitate learning by understanding their goals and targets, encouraging the practise of new skills, and promoting independence.
  • Provide comprehensive support to ensure the well-being and engagement of students in learning.
  • Provide support for all students and residents across both sites, where natural integration will happen across the day.
  • To provide personal care and support with physical interventions when required, for all individuals with physical disabilities.
  • Adhere to Safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain a safe learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred but not required.
  • A genuine want and desire to work with children and young adults that are vulnerable and require additional support.
  • All staff need to be flexible and willing to work with the whole cohort to support and manage the day-day running of the school and residential home.
  • Proactive mindset to take initiative, successful candidates hit the ground running and can use their own initiative without needing too much guidance to engage with the people they are supporting.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
