SEN Teaching Assistant (Speech & Language Focus)
Location: Harrow
Salary: 100 - 120 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

Are you passionate about supporting children with speech and language needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic school in Harrow, working closely with children who have communication difficulties. This role is ideal for someone with a degree in Speech and Language Therapy or a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist looking to gain hands-on experience in an educational setting.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (Speech & Language Focus), you will work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and Speech and Language Therapists to support children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN). You will play a key role in helping students develop their communication skills and confidence in the classroom.
Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with speech and language difficulties
Implementing targeted interventions designed by Speech and Language Therapists
Assisting in developing students' social communication skills and confidence
Supporting teachers in adapting lesson materials to meet individual needs
Monitoring student progress and contributing to support plans
Working closely with therapists, teachers, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to learning
A degree in Speech and Language Therapy or experience working with children with SLCN
Strong understanding of speech, language, and communication strategies
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A valid DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one

Work closely with experienced professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists
