SEN Teaching Assistant

Position Details

Must be full-time and long-term, located in the Wirral Area.

Start date: As soon as possible.

Must be comfortable with personal care.

The School

An SEN-based school is seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD, CLD, and PMLD.

The school values its staff and fosters a nurturing environment with firm boundaries for students. They offer training opportunities, including accredited Team Teach and Safeguarding training, to support pupils and further your career in education. The role is initially for the academic year with the potential for a permanent contract for the successful candidate.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Supporting students with SEN such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.
  2. Providing 1:1 support for emotional needs and assisting pupils who are behind with their work.
  3. Completing progress reports on pupils' development.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  2. Providing flexible support in 1:1 or group settings.
  3. Handling matters calmly and professionally.
  4. Establishing positive relationships with pupils and supporting them to regulate their feelings.
Requirements
  1. Experience working in a school environment.
  2. Resilient and patient nature.
  3. Available to start as soon as possible.
  4. Previous experience in support or care work.
