Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary/Rate: £24,500 - £26,000 / annum

Contract: Permanent

Location: Liverpool

The Leader Group is working in partnership with a SEN School based in Liverpool.

Overview / About the role

We are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEN school, providing educational support to students aged 8 - 19. You will have previous experience of working with students with Complex and SEMH needs (social, emotional and mental health issues, previously known as BESD, SEBD & EBD) and complex needs such as mild/severe autism and non-verbal communication.

You will have excellent behaviour management skills as well as patience, empathy and understanding.

Responsibilities
  • You will be required to provide either one to one support or small group support to learners with a variety of complex needs
  • Comply with individual learning plans
  • To take direction from the class teacher and help support
Qualifications / Requirements
  • You must be an experienced classroom support assistant with a good level of experience of working with students with SEMH and complex needs
  • Be patient and resilient
  • Be creative
  • Make learning fun
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Have a therapeutic and holistic approach
  • Team Teach trained would be advantageous, although training can be given.
