SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Start Date: Easter 2025
Salary: £83.33 - £95.00 per day

We are seeking Special Needs Teaching Assistants to support young people with a diverse range of additional needs in schools across Boston, Lincolnshire. To be considered for this role, prior experience and knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) is essential.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing and adapting learning materials based on lesson plans provided by the class teacher, ensuring they meet individual student needs.
  2. Supporting children and young people's physical, social, and emotional well-being.
  3. Using creative and engaging methods to interact with students and enhance their learning experience.
  4. Collaborating with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.
  5. Providing personal care when necessary to ensure the well-being of students.

Requirements:

  1. At least 6 months of experience in an educational or healthcare setting.
  2. Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities.
  3. A willingness to provide personal care when required.
  4. A genuine passion and commitment to helping individuals with additional needs gain independence.
  5. A Level 2 or higher qualification, such as a Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must pass background safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
