SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire
Start Date: Easter 2025
Salary: £84.00 - £97.00 per day

We are looking for Special Needs Teaching Assistants to support students with a diverse range of additional needs in schools across Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire. To be considered for this role, prior experience and knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) is essential.

Your duties will include:

  1. Preparing and adapting learning materials based on lesson plans provided by the class teacher, ensuring they meet individual student needs.
  2. Supporting children and young people's physical, social, and emotional well-being.
  3. Using creative and engaging methods to enhance student learning and interaction.
  4. Collaborating with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.
  5. Providing personal care when necessary to ensure students' well-being.

To be successful in this role, you must have:
  1. At least 6 months of experience in an educational or healthcare setting.
  2. Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities.
  3. A willingness to provide personal care when required.
  4. A genuine passion for helping individuals with additional needs gain independence.
  5. A Level 2 or higher qualification, such as Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.

This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must pass background safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
