Job summary

Chelsea Hall School is an outstanding Independent Special School for students aged 4-11 with mild to moderate, complex learning needs. We are seeking to recruit an energetic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will need to be passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and committed to providing them with the best educational support possible.

You will be working in close partnership with our teachers, therapists, other teaching assistants and parents.

Responsibilities

  • To assist teaching staff to plan and prepare lessons and resources within the school curriculum.
  • To make and prepare resources for teaching and therapy staff.
  • To reinforce targets throughout the school day.
  • To support students both within the class and during unstructured situations.
  • To support the teaching and therapy staff to maintain detailed case notes of all children seen.
  • To produce and maintain up-to-date pupils’ profile and behaviour plans.
  • To follow school procedures in reporting incidents and safeguarding concerns.
  • To act as a resource and support for other staff members working with the children.
  • To participate in supervision and support as required.
  • To maintain continuous professional development.

Chelsea Hall School is an outstanding Independent Special School for students aged 4-11 with mild to moderate, complex learning needs. We are part of the Cavendish Group, a unique group of educational independent day and boarding schools. We work closely with the other schools in our group and believe in 'thinking differently’ and being as creative as possible in our teaching.

We are seeking to recruit an energetic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will need to be passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and committed to providing them with the best educational support possible. You will be working in close partnership with our teachers, therapists, other teaching assistants and parents.

  • Working hours: 8.00pm - 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only
  • Salary: £21,000.00 - £24,000.00 (depending on experience)
  • Start date: 19/10/2026

Chelsea Hall School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and at least two satisfactory references.

Please note that questions on safeguarding will also be asked during the interview so as to check on your awareness of safeguarding procedure and anticipate potential training needs. All staff members receive child protection and PREVENT training upon employment, unless they have recently undergone such training.
