Job description

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Exeter

Contract: Full time, permanent

Start: After February half term

Salary: £14.45 - £15.20 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs to overcome challenges and reach their full potential? We are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Exeter, working with students aged 11 - 17 who require tailored support to engage with learning.

About the role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in:

  • Supporting students in building confidence, resilience and independence
  • Assisting with learning activities, both in the classroom and through hands-on, practical experiences
  • Encouraging motivation and positive attitude towards education
  • Helping students develop social and emotional skills to thrive in and beyond school
  • Providing individualised support to remove barriers to learning
  • Working towards EHCP targets to ensure personalised progress

This role offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to directly impact the lives of young learners, helping them succeed academically, socially and emotionally.

About you:

We are looking for someone who is dedicated, flexible and enthusiastic about working with young people. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in an SEN, SEMH or alternative education setting
