Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Dover
Salary: £88.94 per day
Start time: Immediate
Contract: Full-time

GSL Education is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Dover. You will provide exceptional support to students with special educational needs, helping them reach their full potential through personalised and heartfelt care.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers to adapt lessons and provide individualised support, ensuring each student benefits from a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your role will be key in fostering their social, emotional, and academic development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction to students with SEN.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Provide support and guidance to other staff working with SEN students.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers about student progress and needs.
  • Stay informed about current best practices and developments in special education.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training in special education is preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting all students.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions.
  • An updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
