SEN Teaching Assistant - Stratford - Full Time
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant Mainstream Secondary School in Stratford. This is a fantastic Full Time opportunity to work on a 1-1 basis with students with Autism (ASD), both verbal and non-verbal, and to make a lasting impact on their education and development.
This position is term time only, Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 3:30pm. It is ideal for candidates with a background in supporting SEN students in a Secondary School setting, or those with experience as an Autism support worker, SEN Teaching Assistant, or first-hand personal experience supporting young people with Autism (ASD) and other additional needs.

Applicants must have:

Previous experience working with SEN, ideally in a Secondary School or Mainstream setting.

Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in Autism (ASD) support, either professionally or personally.

A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply - full support provided).

Knowledge of Pecs or Makaton is highly beneficial.
Daily duties will include:

Providing 1-1 support to students with Autism (ASD) within a Mainstream Secondary School environment.

Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
*
Supporting the development of communication skills, including use of Pecs or Makaton where required.
*
Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised learning strategies.
*
Encouraging social interaction and engagement in school life.
*
Managing behaviour positively and promoting emotional well-being.
*
Assisting with personal care where required.
*
Monitoring progress and feeding back to teachers and parents.
