GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school community in Barnsley. Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Assist in delivering personalised lessons and activities tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support students’ academic, emotional, and social development through positive reinforcement.
  • Help with personal care needs, ensuring student safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor and track student progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage student independence.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Understanding of the national curriculum and SEN support strategies.
  • Ability to use creative and engaging teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A genuine passion for supporting SEN students.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education).
