A leading company in education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs. The role involves providing tailored support, implementing educational plans, and fostering a positive learning environment. Ideal candidates will have a strong academic background and experience with SEN, along with excellent communication skills.
SEN Teaching Assistant
Start date: September 2025 (earlier starts may be available)
Hours: 8.30am - 4pm approximately
Salary: 19,500 - 22,500
SEN Teaching Assistant - responsibilities
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Your role will involve:
Providing one-to-one and small group support to students in the classroom (multiple subject areas).
Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
Supporting students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Encouraging independence and confidence in students.

SEN Teaching Assistant - requirements
A 2:1 or above from a top UK university - Psychology graduates are desirable
Experience working with children or young people with SEN
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a positive attitude
Has a good understanding of SEN strategies and interventions
Proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Considering a career in teaching or Educational Psychology
