SEN Teaching Assistant

Monarch Education are currently looking for a dedicated SEN TA (Teaching Assistant) to work within a Primary School in B16. We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated individual who is available between the hours of 8:30 - 15:30 either full time or part time. You will need to have experience working with SEND children and must be comfortable with personal care.

Requirements of applicant:

  1. Experience working with children with SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), and other learning difficulties.
  2. Ability to manage challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
  3. Strong communication skills to effectively support students, teachers, and parents.
  4. Patience, empathy, and resilience to work with pupils who require additional support.
  5. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.
  6. Ability to adapt learning materials and activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  7. Collaborative mindset to work effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists.
  8. Basic literacy and numeracy skills to support students in their academic progress.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support for pupils with SEND, ensuring they can access the curriculum.
  • Assist children with learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), and physical disabilities.
  • Adapt lesson materials and teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Use positive behaviour management techniques to support pupils with challenging behaviour.
  • Foster confidence, independence, and social skills in pupils.
  • Support children with personal care needs, if required.

Salary: £85 - 110 per day (Reviewed after 12 weeks placement*)
