Horizon Teachers is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Bexley on a long-term basis. You will support pupils from Reception to Year 6, including 1:1 and small-group work, focusing on pupils with high needs to help them access learning and build confidence throughout the day.

Horizon Teachers are working with a primary school in Bexley, assisting in their search for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. This role involves supporting pupils across mainstream and SEN classes, particularly focusing on pupils with high needs on a 1:1 and group basis, building long-lasting relationships and assisting with all areas of learning throughout the day.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting pupils from Reception up to Year 6 on a 1:1 and group basis to help them access learning and feel confident at school.
• Working alongside a team of SEN teachers and support staff, adapting activities and resources to suit individual needs.
• Supporting pupils with personal care when necessary.
• Encouraging independence, social skills and self-esteem.
• Building trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families.

• Experience supporting primary- or secondary-aged pupils with autism, Down syndrome, complex needs or physical disabilities.
• A patient, empathetic and reliable approach to both learning support and personal care.
• Someone who is flexible and happy to work across a range of year groups.
• Good communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a close-knit team.
• A genuine passion for helping children achieve their best every day.
