Job summary

An educational recruitment agency is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to provide one-to-one teaching in Maths and English for secondary-aged students. The ideal candidate will possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or proven experience as an SEN Tutor, and strong knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Dyslexia. This full-time role emphasizes tailored lessons and collaborative work within the SEN department of an international school, creating a safe and engaging environment for student development.

  • Location: International School, SEN Department
  • Borough: Westminster
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Role: SEN Teacher / Tutor (Secondary)
  • Salary: M1 to M6 depending on expereince
Job Overview
  • Provide one-to-one teaching in Maths and English to secondary-aged students within the SEN department.
  • Deliver tailored, engaging lessons that meet individual Education Plans (EHCPs).
  • Support students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Dyslexia, adapting teaching strategies to suit diverse learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and support staff within an international school environment.
  • Monitor progress, set targets, and provide feedback to support academic and personal development.
  • Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
Job Requirements - SEN Teacher / Tutor
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or proven experience as an SEN Tutor in secondary education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Secondary Maths and English.
  • Experience working with students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Dyslexia.
  • Ability to differentiate, individualised lessons.
  • Strong behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Experience working within an SEN or specialist provision is highly desirable.
Compliance Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS check (registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Two professional references.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications and/or SEN training certificates.
  • Safeguarding and child protection training
