Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking an inspiring SEN Teacher to support pupils with diverse learning needs in Lowestoft and surrounding areas. Positions range from day-to-day cover to long-term placements, offering flexibility and meaningful impact on student outcomes.

Requirements include QTS or QTLS and proven SEN experience; knowledge of communication approaches like Makaton/PECS is desirable. You will collaborate with SENCOs, therapists, and families to support holistic development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS with relevant experience.
• Proven experience teaching or supporting children with SEN in specialist or mainstream settings.
• Strong capability to adapt curriculum delivery to varying developmental levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver highly differentiated lessons tailored to EHCP targets.
• Teach pupils with ASC, SLD/PMLD, SEMH, or SLCN as appropriate.
• Foster a safe, low-arousal environment promoting regulation, confidence and independence.
• Lead and deploy Teaching Assistants for 1:1 and small group interventions.
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with SENCOs, therapists, external agencies and parents to support progress.
