Location: South Sheffield (S8)

Start Date: September 2026

Onboarding: Begins May half term 2026

Pay Rate: £140 – £200 per day, depending on experience and qualifications

About the Role

Elevate Supply is partnering with a specialist SEN school in South Sheffield to recruit an experienced SEN Teacher focusing on complex needs. This rewarding role involves supporting students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and related medical and sensory needs.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalized, sensory-based lessons aligned with EHCP targets
  • Lead a classroom team supporting pupils with physical, sensory, and communication needs
  • Implement strategies such as Makaton, PECS, sensory integration, and intensive interaction
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment conducive to learning and development
  • Collaborate with therapists, medical staff, and external agencies
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress for reviews and assessments
  • Communicate effectively with families and carers
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching children with complex learning and physical needs
  • Knowledge of PMLD, SLD, sensory processing disorders, and medical care plans
  • Familiarity with alternative communication methods and assistive technology
  • Calm, adaptable, and empathetic teaching approach
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
