Job description

Job Opening: SEN Teacher

Join our team at Acorn Park School in Norwich as a SEN Teacher. We are committed to innovative work practices, including a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, promoting work/life balance.

Position Details
  • Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum (not pro-rata)
  • Hours: 37.5 hours/week; Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
  • Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
  • Start Date: July 2025

About the Role

Develop students' academic, social, and communication skills, leading by example to ensure high-quality education and care.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with curriculum pathways.
  2. Plan effectively to deliver high-quality lessons.
  3. Organize the learning environment and resources to maximize learning.
  4. Build positive relationships with pupils and their families.
  5. Use assessment tools to record pupil progress.
  6. Foster enthusiasm for learning and challenge pupils to reach their full potential.
  7. Ensure pupil safety, well-being, and behavior management in line with policies.
  8. Collaborate with colleagues and support stakeholders.
  9. Meet the EHCP needs of pupils and develop expertise in teaching pupils with ASD.
  10. Maintain accurate records and communication with stakeholders.
  11. Maintain a healthy work/life balance.
