Job Title: SEN Teacher

Location: Higford School, Near Shifnal, Shropshire TF11 9ET

Salary: Up to GBP44,310.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

About the role

As an SEN Teacher, your duties will include:

  • Teaching to a high standard and ensuring all pupils access relevant knowledge
  • Liaising with other OFG schools to develop the curriculum
  • Developing the scheme of learning and overseeing planning across pathways
  • Monitoring pupil progress and implementing interventions for underachievement
  • Maintaining a development plan for the subject areas
  • Staying updated on curriculum changes
  • Delivering staff training on pedagogical developments
  • Coordinating with the exams officer for qualification entries
  • Teaching a range of subjects to deliver the school's curriculum effectively
Responsibilities
  • Supporting curriculum development and innovation
  • Working with SLT to deliver a differentiated curriculum
  • Supporting development of learning styles, behaviour management, and resources
  • Facilitating access to learning and social opportunities for SEN pupils
  • Supporting pupils with complex needs alongside SLT and therapy teams
  • Ensuring consistency in T&L and assessment approaches
Essential Requirements
  • QTS or equivalent
  • Experience in a specialist setting (highly desirable)
