Job description

Role: SEN Teacher
Location: Salford (M27 & M30)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: MPS + SEN Allowance (Dependent on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025 (flexible for the right candidate)
Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm - potential to secure a direct school contract

Reeson Education is working closely with a specialist provision in the Salford area to find a passionate and resilient SEN Teacher to support some of the most vulnerable pupils in the local community. This full-time, long-term role is based across two key sites in M27 and M30 and offers the opportunity to step into a meaningful teaching role with genuine potential to transition to a permanent contract.

The provision offers education for pupils from KS2 to KS4 who face significant social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Pupils are taught in small groups, with additional support from Teaching Assistants, and benefit from a highly personalised curriculum that focuses on academic achievement, personal development, and emotional wellbeing.

SEN Teacher - Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver core subjects including English, Maths, PSHE and Humanities to pupils working between KS2 and Foundation GCSE level
  • The SEN Teacher will plan and deliver lessons tailored to the needs of small groups (typically 3-4 pupils)
  • Oversee and guide TAs delivering tuition to individual students within your class
  • Support pupils on an Education Other Than In School (EOTIS) pathway, delivering lessons primarily from a central hub site
  • Work collaboratively as a SEN Teacher with the wider teaching team across sites to align learning and assessment
  • Liaise with subject leaders and access PPA time to ensure high-quality teaching and cross-site consistency
  • Support the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils with SEMH needs

SEN Teacher - Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (Primary or Secondary)
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH and/or complex learning needs
  • Proven ability to raise pupil engagement and support challenging behaviour positively
  • Flexibility to teach across multiple subjects and adapt curriculum delivery to meet diverse learner needs
  • A calm, empathetic and solution-focused mindset
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic, emotionally complex environment with pupils who need high levels of pastoral support
