Job Advert: Primary SEN Teacher

Location: Rugby, UK

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join our inclusive and supportive school in Rugby. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and will be committed to providing tailored learning experiences to support students' individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and adapt high-quality lessons for children with a range of SEN, including learning disabilities, autism, and other developmental needs.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other staff members to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Provide differentiated support to ensure each student achieves their potential.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, where students feel safe, valued, and confident.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure a holistic approach to each child\'s development.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • A strong understanding of the principles of inclusive education and differentiated teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
Desirable
  • Additional qualifications in SEN or relevant areas (e.g., Autism Awareness, ADHD, etc.).
  • Experience with supporting children with complex needs.
