SEND Teacher – Rochester

Teaching is more than just delivering lessons, it’s about empowering students, unlocking potential, and creating a space where every achievement is celebrated. This specialist SEN school in Canterbury is looking for a dedicated teacher to lead core subjects at KS3 & KS4, helping students build confidence and succeed at entry level and functional skills level. Contract: September start until July 2026 at least

Salary: £163 - £223 per day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and accessible lessons in core subjects for KS3 & KS4 students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to support diverse learning needs, ensuring all students can succeed.
  • Teach at entry level and functional skills level, focusing on practical application and real-world learning.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and independence.
  • Work closely with support staff and specialists to tailor learning experiences for individual students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing encouraging feedback and adapting strategies accordingly.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with SEND students, particularly those with SEMH, autism, or additional learning needs.
  • A resilient and adaptable approach to teaching, ensuring students receive the support they need.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with support staff, specialists, and families.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons to accommodate varying learning styles and needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student well-being and academic progress.
